Activities to Explore the Outdoors
Every Tuesday we went out into the woods around our school and explored. Students were covering multiple competencies from Science, Social Studies, Math, Language Arts, Physical Education, and Social/Emotional Curriculum while having the opportunity to take manageable risks. I will continue to offer activities from The Big Book of Nature Activities that can be completed throughout the week and other learning opportunities.

If you complete one of the activities take a picture and I will add it to our Slideshow. |
This week I suggest watching
"View from a Canoe: A Coastal Temperate Rainforest". It is an amazing Virtual Fieldtrip to the Clayquot Sound. This video encompasses indigenous ways of learning and stewardship of the land. |

Focused Hearing is when we cup our hands behind your ears and push your ears out to make deer ears.
This enhances your hearing and can help you tell where the sound is coming from.
If you complete the activity I will add it to our Slideshow.
